Arches National Park

 On Valentine's day I was able to go visit Moab, Utah which is about two hours away from Grand Junction. There are two National Parks there and I got to go into Arches National Park. It was absolutely beautiful and like nothing I had ever seen out east. There were lots of red rock formations and obviously arches made from the formations. It was really interesting because it is in the desert, but there is also mountains and snow around, too. These are some photos I was able to take to remember it. To be honest though I now understand the phrase pictures do not do it justice more than ever.

    Those pictures are amazing! Your visit to Arches National Park sounds like it was a great time, and you’re definitely lucky to have experienced those red rock formations and arches in person. You’re doing a great job at blogging, and I can’t wait to read about your next NSE Adventure!

Week of March 14

 This week has been pretty tough and it’s been hard to focus on school but I got to go to Estes National Park for a campus retreat over the weekend. It was a lot of fun because I got to meet new people and I was able to finally see a good bit of snow. There was probably about six inches of snow which was the most I have seen in a long time. I also had a final for one of my half semester classes and I am a little worried about it but hopefully I was able to do well.

Why NSE?

 I chose NSE because it was a great opportunity for me to travel and gain new experiences while studying away without having to go abroad. It also gave me the opportunity to find schools with my major (exercise science) which I could not find with study abroad. There were three school in NSE that had my major a school in Alabama, a school in Massachusetts, and the one I chose Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. I decided to go to CMU because I wanted to leave the south east and I love the outdoors and mountains so I knew I would have a great time, although I am still not prepared for how cold it is gonna be. My application to NSE was basically on a whim though, I found out, applied, and did all my paperwork the weekend right before it was all due. It was a bit of a scramble to try and get it all done, but I figured that if I could finish it all and get accepted in that short of a timeframe then it was meant to be.
