March

 The rest of March has been kind of a blur of school work. I started doordashing as a job which has been good because I was having trouble finding a job in Grand Junction. I also was introduced to spike ball and have gotten a chance to play it with some friends a couple of times and that has been fun. I have been playing a good bit of volleyball too. It feels like I’m getting to the point of the semester where classes are getting pretty tough and have really picked up but I think I should be able to keep up I just have to stay focused.

    I can definitely relate with you on March being the start of the hectic part of the semester with classes picking up. It sounds like you are doing a great job at staying focused though on your school stuff while also balancing making friends and exploring Colorado during your exchange. I’ve played spike ball only a couple of times, but it’s always been really fun and can get pretty competitive sometimes. Good luck with your classes, and it sounds like you have a good mindset at tackling this semester!

Week of March 14

 This week has been pretty tough and it’s been hard to focus on school but I got to go to Estes National Park for a campus retreat over the weekend. It was a lot of fun because I got to meet new people and I was able to finally see a good bit of snow. There was probably about six inches of snow which was the most I have seen in a long time. I also had a final for one of my half semester classes and I am a little worried about it but hopefully I was able to do well.

Why NSE?

 I chose NSE because it was a great opportunity for me to travel and gain new experiences while studying away without having to go abroad. It also gave me the opportunity to find schools with my major (exercise science) which I could not find with study abroad. There were three school in NSE that had my major a school in Alabama, a school in Massachusetts, and the one I chose Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. I decided to go to CMU because I wanted to leave the south east and I love the outdoors and mountains so I knew I would have a great time, although I am still not prepared for how cold it is gonna be. My application to NSE was basically on a whim though, I found out, applied, and did all my paperwork the weekend right before it was all due. It was a bit of a scramble to try and get it all done, but I figured that if I could finish it all and get accepted in that short of a timeframe then it was meant to be. Week of March 1st

 This week has been pretty chill overall. I had a genetics exam on Friday that I am a little nervous about,  and a Kinesiology exam that is due Sunday but hopefully I will do pretty well on them. I am also still trying to catch up in a couple classes but should be back on track soon! For fun this week I have been playing a card game called Magic the Gathering with a few friends that I have made through my church. That has been a nice way to relax and hangout when I am not busy with school work so I have been grateful for that. Hopefully, soon I can have the opportunity to see some other places in nature like the Grand Mesa and even go snowboarding or skiing!
